Well I finally finished Odo but he looks a little anime.

i read a bit of trivia on ds9’s imdb page that said the actors who played quark and odo became friends because they sat with each other for hours of makeup every day and they “felt that their fondness for each other seeped through in the later seasons”

the later seasons? you mean you guys didn’t know that the sexual tension between your characters was throwing off more sparks than a trick candle from day one? you mean armin shimerman didn’t intentionally play quark like he wanted nothing more than to fuck odo raw and nasty right there on the bar? you mean rene auberjonois was unaware that he spoke to quark like a misbehaving sub? LATER SEASONS????

Important thing about transfem Odo is that she still wears nothing but shades of beige and keeps her hair short and tied back in a sensible bun. Her face is the exact same over smoothed approximation of humanoid as before.

Lwaxana and Garak TRY to talk her into more ostentatious flamboyant fashion, but Odo is a practically minded sensible woman and she is addicted to functionality over style forever. Kira agrees with her... most of the time.

Every gratitude festival Odo finds herself called to Garak's shop for an emergency and it's just Kira, Lwaxana, and Garak with a colour wheel and a fashion portfolio ambushing Odo into trying something fancy for the festival.

Odo responds to the emergency call every single year, without hesitation or regret.

odo art for today

and heres just the lineart because i love nice crisp weighted lines.

rene had such a great way with body language which he leaned on during his performance as odo- i assume because his face was covered by a creepy skin-mask the whole time, limiting his facial expressions. very fun to see how he portrays this really gruff grumpy dude in his posture. he’s always skulking around with his head low and his nose high.

so i’ve finally got a good grasp on how to draw odo with stylistic flair. drawing goo is both meditatively fun and horribly tedious, 7/10.

i like his eyes. look at em. what a freak.
